As a pianist, John Ryan is recognized for the unique, refined style of his playing, and admired for the extensive versatility of his repertoire. His style of playing has often been described as “smooth” and “elegant”, and listeners often remark about the emotional and heart-felt quality that comes though his music as he plays. His solo piano arrangements, especially those of the popular standards of the great American composers of Broadway and popular music, have entertained and delighted listeners for many years. Over the years he has built an extensive repertoire of thousands of his own arrangements of songs and popular standards, as well as composing and arranging his own original songs and compositions.
John Ryan began his professional career in music at an early age, and although his formative years were spent performing piano and keyboards with bands, and appearing with jazz groups, his study of music theory and composition, combined with his passion for the acoustic piano eventually led him to pursue the goal of refining his niche as a solo pianist and composer. Mr. Ryan has been performing concerts and playing piano in the finest clubs along the East coast of Florida for over twenty-five years. He has worked on recording projects as a studio musician, and has written and recorded many original songs and compositions as well as original sound scores for the video production industry. In 1997, he formed his company; Ryan Music Inc. to manage the music publishing, recording, and performance aspects of his music career and to manage and license a catalog of his original songs, copyrights, and musical compositions. Mr. Ryan owns and operates a private recording studio located along the Space Coast of Florida where song demos and studio recordings are produced. Current projects include a series of piano music CD’s, and a series of piano performance disks and software for player piano systems under the Pianoware™ label.
